The School of the Wolf is the witcher school most closely associated with Geralt of Rivia, whose adventures form the centre of Andrzej Sapkowski’s novels and the later video game series. Witchers are specially trained monster hunters who travel the Continent taking contracts and using a combination of experience, alchemy and Signs to deal with dangerous creatures.
The wolf-head medallion is one of the most recognisable symbols from the series. Witcher medallions are traditionally worn around the neck and react to nearby magic and supernatural activity. Geralt’s distinctive Wolf School medallion reflects his connection to Kaer Morhen, the remote keep where members of the School of the Wolf were trained.
The angular wolf emblem became particularly well known through CD Projekt Red’s The Witcher games, including The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, and has become closely associated with Geralt and the wider Witcher universe.
