Title: Lordaeron Crest, Kingdom Coat of Arms - World of Warcraft - Fantasy Wax Seal Stamp
Inspired by the heraldry of the Kingdom of Lordaeron from World of Warcraft, this wax seal stamp features the distinctive sigil associated with the kingdom: a curved L pierced by a sword, traditionally depicted in blue.
Lordaeron was one of the great human kingdoms of Azeroth, ruled by the Menethil royal family. Its blue and white colours and distinctive crest remain recognisable symbols of its heritage throughout the Warcraft series.
This 30 mm seal is inspired by the fictional heraldry of Lordaeron and is suitable for sealing letters, decorating correspondence, journalling, or adding a Warcraft-inspired detail to a collection.
The origins of Lordaeron
Lordaeron’s history reaches back to the era following the Troll Wars, when human settlers moved into the fertile lands of Tirisfal Glades. Warcraft lore associates the region’s name with General Lordain, whose stand during the conflict helped secure victory for the humans and their elven allies. As the old Arathorian realm divided into seven human kingdoms, Lordaeron developed into an independent kingdom, with its capital established in the north.
The age of the Menethils
The Menethil dynasty ruled Lordaeron for generations. Its best-known monarch, King Terenas Menethil II, reigned for around fifty years and became a central figure in the history of the human kingdoms.
When the Horde overwhelmed Stormwind during the First War, refugees and surviving defenders travelled north. Terenas helped bring the human kingdoms together with other allies, including the high elves of Quel’Thalas and the dwarves of Ironforge, to establish the Alliance of Lordaeron. During the Second War, Lordaeron became a political centre for the alliance resisting the Horde.
The fall of Lordaeron
The kingdom’s fortunes changed dramatically with the spread of a mysterious plague across its lands. Prince Arthas Menethil pursued its source, eventually travelling to Northrend, where he fell under the influence of the Lich King. When Arthas returned, the Scourge overran the kingdom and brought the Menethil dynasty’s rule to an end. The once-proud capital was left in ruins, and Lordaeron’s former territories became the focus of competing factions.
Despite its fall, Lordaeron remains one of the central locations in Warcraft history. Its crest continues to evoke the Menethil royal line, the founding of the Alliance, and the rise and fall of a kingdom that once represented hope for the human peoples of Azeroth.
