Bowser, also known as the King of the Koopas, is Mario’s long-standing arch-rival and ruler of the Koopa forces. He appeared as the principal antagonist of the original Super Mario Bros. in 1985, where Mario journeys through the Mushroom Kingdom to rescue Princess Toadstool from Bowser and his Koopa army.
Since then, Bowser has become one of Nintendo’s most recognisable characters, appearing throughout the Super Mario series as well as Mario Kart, Mario Party, role-playing games and numerous spin-offs. Despite continually changing roles and appearances, his combination of horns, spiked shell and fiery temperament has remained central to the character.
The Bowser emblem used for this stamp reflects the distinctive horned imagery associated with the Koopa King and makes a particularly bold design when impressed into sealing wax.
Each stamp is made of solid brass, supplied with a handle, and presented in a velvet pouch.
